What is the 10-40 Window?

Many lost souls live in countries considered to be Christianized or evangelized, but almost 2 billion people live in unreached countries. Most of these unreached people are located in North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia where Satan's stronghold is wrapped in the religions of Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism.
This concentration of unreached people live in a narrow band between the northern latitudes of 10 degrees and 40 degrees that has been termed the "10-40 Window". Studies indicate that 90% of all unreached people groups lie within the 10-40 Window, yet among independent Baptists, less than 1% of its Missions giving targets this area.
Few independent Baptist missionaries from the United States minister in 10-40 countries. In part, it is because of differences in culture, language, and extremely difficult economic conditions. But the major reason that there are so few missionaries is that governments and its citizens are hostile toward Christians and all Americans.
The goal of The Carpenter's Project is to reach 10-40 corridor countries. To date, more than 75% of our projects have been in this part of the world. This has been accomplished through four strategic partnerships in the countries of Ethiopia, India, Myanmar, and the Philippines.
