Mexico is the world's largest Spanish speaking country, and is among the largest Roman Catholic nations. Catholicism is so much a part of the culture, the national media portrays evangelicals as anti-Mexican.
Most who become evangelical Christians are the lower classes and those near the US border and Caribbean coastal states. Young people are increasingly rejecting Catholicism.
The Carpenter's Project traveled to the border city of Acuna to assist an independent Baptist children's home remodel their building.
The children in this home are from families who have abandoned them due to extreme poverty and/or the effects of drugs and alcohol.
